Marriage
Plan to make your wedding both a joyful and a holy event! Arrangements should be made with a priest at least six months prior to wedding date. For the Marriage Preparation Program please visit the Diocese of Brooklyn’s Pre-Cana webpage.

Holy Orders
Vocational guidance and information is available for men who are discerning a call to the Diaconate or Priesthood. Please speak to a priest about this. The Diocese also has a Director of Vocations and an Office to assist in this, as well as help with vocations to the consecrated life of sister or brother. Cathedral Preparatory Seminary is a High School in Elmhurst that assists young men in discerning a vocation while offering a standard high school curriculum. Cathedral Prep Seminary House of Formation in Douglaston and the St. John Paul II Residence in Brooklyn assist college-age and older men in preparing for the major seminary. Visit Brooklyn Priests for more information regarding Vocations in Brooklyn.

Anointing of the Sick
The sacrament is available for any baptized Catholic who is seriously ill or suffering the effects of advanced age. Please call the rectory to make an appointment for a priest to come to the home, or call anytime for a sudden illness. If serious surgery is scheduled, call to arrange for the anointing before you enter the hospital.

Communion to the Sick
When illness prevents someone from attending Mass, please call to arrange for a priest or Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to bring Holy Communion to the person at home. Ongoing weekly or monthly visits can be arranged.
